Established in 1996, AiTS provide training in forensic road collision investigation, traffic law and tachographs to the police, industry and individuals in the UK and overseas. The company runs the University Continuing Professional Development Certificate and Foundation Degree in forensic road collision investigation in partnership with De Montfort University, Leicester.
We write and maintain four software programs used by the collision investigation industry.
We also provide support services to the police and carry out expert witness work in civil cases.
The successful candidate will be lecturing to 1st year (level 4) students.
Skills and Experience Required
The successful applicant will hold either CertHE in Forensic Road Collision Investigation or higher or have been working in the field of collision investigation and have an engineering/forensic science degree. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.
Further training will be provided by the company and the university.

Job Overview
To be responsible for the development and maintenance of company software (~80%) plus maintenance and monitoring of remote systems (~20%).
Dutes and responsibilities
Maintenance and development of existing retail applications
Liaise with directors and staff to define future development direction and new projects
Design and develop new applications as required
Generate and update end-user documentation where necessary
Monitor and perform regular administration activities on externally hosted Linux servers and company Office 365 platform
Implement, review and continually update backup strategies
Configure and provision new machines (locally and externally) as required
Review and continually update system security to provide protection against vulnerabilities
Provide out of hours support where necessary
Skills/Attributes Required
Previous experience developing native Windows applications ideally using MS Visual Studio
Experience of software development in C++ and MFC
Experience of working within a comparable field to forensic investigation is desirable
Experience of system administration within a Linux environment and ideally Office 365
Previous experience maintaining Moodle and MariaDB/MySQL clusters is desirable
Highly self-motivated and ability to work alone and as part of a small team
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

£30 000 - £45 000 depending on qualifications and experience.
