AiTS have been providing expert reports in the field of road traffic collisions to solicitors and insurers for over 20 years. Key features of the service include;
We use state of the art equipment as part of the investigation process including laser scanners and Photogrammetry to create 3D models of the scene and vehicles. We have the latest tools that allow us to download information from a vehicle's incident data recorder which typically holds 5 seconds of pre-crash data.
We use the latest software including PC Crash, Amped 5, Response and Siraview to help in the investigation process.
All our experts practice in the area of vehicle collision investigation, including large goods and passenger vehicles, motor cars, motorcycles, pedal cycles, scooters and off road vehicles.
Our experts who specialise in the following areas.
Pedestrian and pedal cycle collisions
Our research into how pedestrians interact with vehicle is ongoing and we have the largest database of vehicle/pedestrian interactions in the UK. We provide courses on the subject to police and other practitioners in the UK and overseas.
CCTV analysis
We have specialist software that allows us to analyse CCTV footage and the meta data embedded in the images. We are developing new analysis techniques as the science develops. We also provide CCTV training courses to police forces in the UK and overseas.
Biomechanical engineering
We have expertise in the field of Biomechanical Engineering which includes areas such as occupant position, injury causation and motorcycle and pedal cycle helmet use. Read more about biomechanical engineering here.
Digital Data
Digital data is everywhere. We specialise in the data stored in insurance black boxes, Garmin and Wahoo cycle computers, tachographs and incident data recorders. We also provide digital data training courses to police in the UK. Our DigitalAnalyst Tachograph Software is used by enforcement agencies in the UK, Ireland and Europe to analyse tachograph data.
Vehicle examination
We have specialist vehicle examiners who can examine motor vehicles to establish their state of roadworthiness at the time of an incident. We are the UK and Ireland designated trainers for the Bosch CDR tool which allows data to be downloaded from the vehicle's incident data recorder. Read more about biomechanical engineering here.
We are always happy to review a case and give you a short synopsis of what we can do based on the available evidence. Based on the synopsis, if you wish to proceed, we will provide a quotation for the full report. If you decide not to proceed we will return any papers you. Where CCTV Biomechanics or Digital Data is involved we charge for this service.
In general we aim to complete the initial report within 10 to 20 weeks from receiving all the available evidence. Completion dates can alter depending on the current workload of staff. Please ask for the current lead time when contacting us.
One of the advantages of having a team of experts is our ability to draw on other areas of expertise within the company. It also means that all our reports are checked by a second investigator before they are released to the client.
